THE OWNER HAD SOME CONFUSION IN MIND ABOUT WHETHER YOU COULD DO THIS OR NOT. HE THOUGHT HIS HOUSE WAS NOT CONTRIBUTING TO THE [INAUDIBLE] HISTORIC DISTRICT, THEREFORE, HE WENT AHEAD AND PAINTED IT. I EXPLAINED TO HIM AT A MEETING THAT IT REALLY CAN'T BE PAINTED. HE AGREED VOLUNTARILY TO REMOVE IT. HE HAS NOW REMOVED IT. THERE WAS A TECHNIQUE YOU CAN USE TO REMOVE IT, WHICH IS ABRASIVE TREATMENT. IT THROWS [OVERLAPPING] CONCH SHELLS AND IT GOT IT ALL OFF. NOW IF YOU DRIVE BY, IT LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT. IF YOU SAW IN YOUR PACKET OF WHAT I SENT YOU, YOU CAN SEE WHAT A DIFFERENCE. IT WAS SO SURPRISING WHAT PAINTING IT WHITE MADE IT LOOK LIKE. IT DIDN'T REALLY ENHANCE THE HOUSE. THEN THE PLANS WERE SUBMITTED NOVEMBER 29TH BY THE APPLICANT AUSTIN FLEMING OF EXCERPTS STUDIO DESIGNERS FOR PLANS TO RENOVATE THE HISTORIC 1954 GRAPEVINE POST OFFICE BUILDING. THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF GRAPEVINE PROPOSES TO RENOVATE THE BUILDING TO SERVE AS AN ACTIVITY CENTER FOR THE CHURCH'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM. PLANS FOR THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW ADA RAMP ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE BUILDING, AND A NEW WOOD DECK TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING, NEXT TO THE ORIGINAL MAIL LOADING DOCK. THEN ON THE MAIL LOADING DOCK, THEY WOULD CONSTRUCT A BARBEQUE GRILL WITH A SERVING AREA MAKING THIS AN OUTDOOR SERVING AREA JUST A GATHERING SPOT FOR THE ACTIVITIES REALLY TAKING PLACE INSIDE BUT THEY WOULD FLOW OUT ONTO THE DECK AT CERTAIN TIMES. THE DECK IN THE BACK, THE WAY THEY'VE SHOWN IT IN OUR PLANS, THEY'VE PROPOSED TO HAVE STRING LIGHTS OVERHEAD AND JUST BASICALLY THE DECK ITSELF OUT THERE. IT'S PRETTY MINIMAL WHAT IT DOES TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING. IF YOU LOOK ON THESE ELEVATIONS HERE, I'VE GOT THE REAR ELEVATION, SO YOU SEE THE BUTTERFLY ROOF OF THE ORIGINAL COVERED LOADING DOCK, UNDER THERE IS WHERE THEY WOULD HAVE THE BARBECUE GRILL AND THEN THE SPACE FROM THE LOADING DOCK AS YOU MOVE TO THE RIGHT WOULD BE, ALL DECK THROUGH THERE, SO I'LL MOVE INTO THE PLANS HERE. HERE YOU SEE THE LOCATION OF THE BUILDING. IT'S AT THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF THE CHURCH PROPERTY RIGHT THERE, RIGHT ON THE STREET CORNER OF TEXAS AND JENKINS IS THE LITTLE BUILDING. THEN THE CHURCH WITH ITS NEW EDITION WE PUT ON BACK IN 2015 IS THE CLASSROOM BUILDING JUST RIGHT TO THE EAST FROM THERE, AND I'LL MOVE ON HERE. HERE YOU CAN SEE IF YOU LOOK AT THE ENLARGED SITE PLAN, YOU CAN SEE ON THE RIGHT SIDE THE RAMP THAT'S BEING ADDED THERE, THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CIRCULATE UP TO THE SIDEWALK LEVEL. THERE'S A LARGE DEGREE OF, DON'T LOOK TOO LARGE HERE, BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL STEPS GOING UP TO THE SIDEWALKS SURROUNDING THE BUILDING. IF YOU LOOK AT THE FRONT VIEW OF THE BUILDING, SO THAT RAMP WOULD BE TO YOUR RIGHT IN THAT PICTURE. IT WOULD GET YOU FROM THE PARKING LOT AREA RIGHT UP TO THAT FRONT SIDEWALK CORNER OF THE BUILDING. THEN ON THE INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING, WE'RE NOT SO MUCH LOOKING AT THAT, BUT THEY WOULD OPEN UP AN AREA AND CREATE A SEATING AREA INSIDE AROUND A BAR, AND THERE'S NOT ANY RURAL COOKING GOING ON, THERE'S MORE SERVING GOING ON IN THERE, AND A GATHERING SPOT. THEN THE BIG SPACE IS OPENED UP. ONE OTHER CHANGE IN WHICH YOU CAN SEE ON THIS DRAWING, THEY WERE ALTERING THE ORIGINAL WAS A SINGLE DOOR ON THE REAR ELEVATION TO GET YOU OUT TO THE DECK NOW, IT WOULD BE A PAIR OF DOORS INSTEAD OF A SINGLE DOOR RIGHT THERE.
